Judgement day for Black has finally come. If Black is your favirote colour then you are in for a treat. If not and you are a regular reader keep with the same policy as always <or reread the article with your colour in>. If you are not a regular reader then where have you been, as punishment till you read everything else on this site you get to sit though the article about Black. Now would be a good time to drop subtle hints we now have a forum. And guess what, you can join. Just give us a break it has been up only 24 hours so it is not 100% finished yet <mostly I need to get a banner in really>, but I have opened it before getting the banner because…erm…I….Love…..You…People..A..Huggy..Bunch. You can start your own new topics as soon as you register, just have a quick read of the rules and you are away. If you have seen something we should/could add put it in the errors and suggestions bit. We will always listen but no promises as to if we can do it or not. Anyway enough pluging the forum feature let us continue with this article on Black. Same structure as always since if I deviate it may cause some of you to die from the stress of not knowing where things are. So first up is deck ideas with black, you can do most things with black, and it can be a really inventive colour for combos as well as regular decks. -Rush -Kill stuff -Drain life -Big black monsters -Fear -Shadow As with all colours there’s more decks you can make than I list, I try and get the core of the colour here not explore the labyrinth of possibilities. So how is Black evil you ask….. I reply by sighing firstly because you clearly have not been paying attention to this game at all, <it’s not Yu-gi-oh where you just make up the rules>. For the stupids out there who do not get that black, the power of darkness and corruption, whose armies consist of zombies, hags, ghouls, shades and assorted evil minions, is the stereotypical evil in magic might as well go back to whatever they came from doing. Black is selfish and arrogant this helps it to seize power, after all it is not whether you deserve it or not, it is whether you are strong enough to hold onto it or not. How is Black good? In the same way white is evil Black too can be good, either by not knowing it or by seeing that in helping others gain what they want it will in turn get what it wants. Occasionally Black does the good things because it sees White making a mess of things <again>, such as Phage vs Akroma for control of domiria, admittedly neither force was really good, but both had the idea that they would rule fairly, fortunately they both died and it was a happily ever after <except the event helped ruin the plane in the future along with anything and everything that has ever happened in magic>. What does Black believe in? -Death -Individualism -Calculated destruction -Decay -Darkness -Resurrection Basically anything morbid you can think of is probably depicted somewhere in Black. Why does Black like its allies and hate is enemies? As I mentioned in the Blue article, Black seeing in Blue a route to knowledge and knowledge is power, and Black likes power. In Red, Black sees anarchy and passion which are key to the drive for power. It sees the violence and carnage Red makes and sees how it fits in perfectly with its own way of thinking. In Green, Black sees life and life though gives fresh meat it can counter death if left unchecked. Black does see however that it must always dance with Green between the boundaries of life and death. In White, Black finds light and light penetrates darkness. And defeat is not something Black is happy to have. White seeks to remove darkness from the world and Black only wishes to keep <and expand> it’s own. Some could argue that White is the reason Black fights them, since White is just as likely to stir Black as Black is to bully anyone else.
